Reykjavík Fringe Festival 2023

Exhibition of three comics made in 2022 titled “Three Modern Fairy Tales” (Of Snow and Shovels, The Ghosts at Home and The Unseen Artistry of Women) at Grófin, Reykjavík City Library, between 26th June until July 2nd. I also exhibited one panel from Nana’s Cows, as a sneak peak into this year’s work.

This year, I was also the artist of the fringe’s official poster design, which decorated Reykjavík city in the form of posters, flyers, signs and at bus stops all over town.

Joint exhibition by the title “Illustrated Worlds” with Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir, sponsored by the Sumarborgin fund of the city of Reykjavík. Opening Party 1pm Saturday 9th July, closing Sunday 10th July.

Gallerí Fold 2022

Space Mama Piggy exhibited at Reykjavík Fringe Festival in Iceland. Opening Party Saturday 25th, 12pm and the exhibition stayed up until July 3rd.

The short story Apples Baked and Words Unspoken also exhibited at Gallerí Fold and received the Pen to Paper Reykjavík Fringe Award 2022. Published in the collaborative zine Strange Love with the Icelandic Comics Society ÍMS. The story follows the zine theme “Love” and is about communication, failures and fatherhood.

These illustrations are excerpts from a new chapter in the full length graphic novel in-the-works, Space Mama Piggy, prior to lettering.

Space Mama Piggy is not the perfect mother of children’s books. She is a broken six legged figure stumbling to move on from her mistakes and perceived failures.

In this collection, Space Mama Piggy’s Shadow has grown into an enormous sea monster from her relentless shame and self loathing. Once ensnared, Flower Petal fears that this is the end of Space Mama Piggy. Rather than running away from her Shadow, Space Mama Piggy tries for the first time to stay with it and embrace it. She realizes Shadow is just as afraid, lonely and in need of love as she is. By embracing her darker and rejected sides, Space Mama Piggy inches closer to becoming a whole person again.

Seven page comic about a family of foxes. It features apple cake, but really, it’s about how often we fall short and fail to communicate the love we feel and need. The comic explores childhood and fatherhood.

Reykjavík Fringe Festival 2018

Icelandic words in wild local flora. Exhibition at Hlemmur Square during Reykjavík Fringe Festival July 1st-8th 2018. The illustrations were sold as a set of postcards as well as framed A2 prints through custom orders.

I also did a live drawing mural of the word “Jæja” at the Hlemmur Square reception during the Reykjavík Fringe launch party. This led to my custom mural commission for the hostel.
